The Macau Jockey Club’s betting revenues dropped between 15 and 20 percent for the whole of 2011.
While the betting operator tried to reverse the situation in the month of September, it did not succeed in boosting its business, according to Thomas Li, executive director of Macau Jockey Club, who was quoted by TDM.
Troubles in the eurozone and booming Macau casinos that saw revenues increase by 42 percent are to blame for the decreases.
“It’s because the market turned worse. When it rose again, we were not included in the share, it all flowed to the casino side. Our business was not as good,” Mr Li was quoted as saying.
