Macau’s first Chinese judge passes away

Court of Final Appeal judge Chu Kin – the first ethnic Chinese appointed as a judge during the Portuguese administration in 1996 – died yesterday, at the age of 42.
Mr Chu suffered severe brain damage from a car crash in the mainland earlier in August.
The accident had already forced his compulsory retirement due to permanent incapacity.
