There were 671 residential transactions in September, 4 percent more than in the previous month, according to the latest data from the Statistics and Census Service.

That was the first increase in transaction volume since the new stamp duty on real estate transactions was enacted, in mid-June.

Year-on-year, home sales in September were down by 55.4 percent.

In monetary terms, housing transactions in Macau were worth MOP1.82 billion (US$227 million), a 4 percent rise over August.
