The number of visitor arrivals during the New Year holidays was 324,000, up by 8.1 percent compared to the same period last year, data from the police shows.
The Border Gate remained the busiest checkpoint with 414,000 arrivals (including visitors and residents), followed by the outer harbor ferry terminal with 71,000, and the Taipa temporary ferry terminal with 29,000.
The total number of departures, including visitors and locals, stood at 554,000, with the Border Gate still taking up the majority of the cross border movements at 415,000.
