New year’s resolutions

Chief executive Fernando Chui Sai On said in his New Year speech that the government will continue to work in 2012 to facilitate economic diversification.
He added local authorities will actively seek to develop Macau as the world’s tourism and leisure centre.
On enhancing people’s livelihood, the government will perfect the social security system and help the needy, Mr Chui said.
Local authorities also want to improve public transportation services and improve governance in 2012.
