The value of retail sales for the third quarter of 2011 reached MOP10.59 billion (US$1.32 billion), up by 38 percent year-on-year, information from the Statistics and Census Service shows.
Retail sales of watches, clocks and jewellery amounted to MOP2.70 billion (25 percent of total), followed by retail sales of goods in department stores (16 percent) and leather goods (11 percent).
The value of retail sales increased by 8 percent quarter-on-quarter.
In the first nine months of 2011, the value of retail sales totalled MOP30.43 billion, up by 39 percent from a year earlier.
