The value of retail sales in Macau for the second quarter of 2011 amounted to MOP9.60 billion, up by 39 percent year-on-year.

Retail sales of watches, clocks and jewellery reached MOP2.53 billion (US$316 million), or 26 percent of the total, leading the list.

In comparison with the first three months of 2011, the value of retail sales increased slightly by 0.1 percent.

In the first half-year of 2011, the value of retail sales reached MOP19.19 billion, up by 38 percent year-on-year.

The volume of retail sales decreased by 3 percent in the second quarter from the previous period.
