Sands China Ltd. has already delivered its development plans for parcel 3 in Cotai to the government.
This was confirmed today by the company’s chairman Sheldon Adelson.
He said during a conference call that Sands China Ltd. has applied to the government and submitted drawings for a 4,000-room lot 3 development.
“We think that in consultation with the government, as to what they want, we’re going to make a mass market [project] plus a separate tower for VIP play on lot 3,” Mr Adelson said.
Sources confirmed to Macau Business Newsletter that the new project will have a high focus on mass market, aiming to attract mid-class mainland families.
The project, the sources added, will be “highly themed” and quite different from the neighboring Venetian Macau, with most of the hotel rooms being three and four star units.
Mr Adelson also confirmed the first phase of Sands Cotai Central will open in approximately eight weeks, including a mass gaming floor with around 200 gaming tables, 40 private gaming rooms and up to 140 gaming tables.
