Mobile communications operator SmarTone is considering asking for compensation from CTM following its major service failure last week.
They are allegedly the first company to announce such a move, TDM reported.
During the failure, all the 200 telecommunications stations Smartone rents from CTM were affected, impacting its services.
CTM has the monopoly on fixed-line services in Macau. The government is currently launching a public tender to introduce two more new players to the market.
Smartone’s chief executive officer, Patrick Chan, criticised CTM for not having a back-up system.
