A Taipei court ruled in favour of a Macau casino for a man to repay his gambling debt.
Three years ago, the man came to Macau to gamble and signed a promissory note of HK$75 million (US$9.7 million) in exchange for chips needed to gamble.
The report in the China Post does not name the casino in question.
The man reportedly lost all the money and returned to Taiwan without paying his debt, and the casino operator went to the island nation where it asked that the courts seize the man’s luxury mansion.
In Taiwan, the man had already transferred the title of his house to his wife, however the court decided that the title transfer should be revoked.
