Visitor arrivals on package tours soared by 60.9 percent year-on-year to 637,000 in October, the Statistics and Census Service said.
Visitors from the mainland (461,000), Taiwan (44,000), Hong Kong (31,000) and South Korea (24,000) surged by 67.7 percent, 97.7 percent, 46.5 percent and 104.9 percent respectively.
In the first ten months of 2011, visitor arrivals on package tours increased by 20.4 percent year-on-year to 5.74 million.
