There is trouble in the skies for Air Asia as the low-cost Malaysian carrier faces a lawsuit by Australian regulators over its online fare information.
Reports say that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission allege the “misleading conduct” was in relation to several flights flying out from Australia including flights between Melbourne and Macau and Perth and Macau.
According to the Macau Civil Authority, there have been no cases or complaints here. Nonetheless, court filings in Melbourne, Australia claim that the airline does not display all taxes, duties, fees and additional charges on their website.
The airline flies from Macau with a layover in Kuala Lumpur to Thailand, Malaysia, India, France, Australia and New Zealand.
