Philippines tycoon to join Okada in new casino

Robinsons Land Corp., controlled by Philippines billionaire John Gokongwei, signed a preliminary agreement with Kazuo Okada’s Universal Entertainment Group to build a casino resort in Manila. The final contract will be signed by January 31, according to Universal’s statement. There are no details on the cost or financial details of the project yet, Bloomberg reports today. Okada (pictured) holds one of four casino licenses awarded by the Philippine government, which aims to build a gaming hub in Manila. The Japanese tycoon was Wynn Resorts Ltd’s largest shareholder, until he was forcibly bought out earlier this year. Wynn Resorts is the parent company of Macau-based gaming operator Wynn Macau Ltd.
