Judiciary Police (PJ) have detained 15 people suspected of conducting a money lending ring linked to a criminal group previously operating in the MSAR, according to local broadcaster TDM. The majority of the suspects were caught in the act in two apartments in Taipa where they conducted the operations, with records found evidencing loans totalling MOP8.2 million. The suspects allegedly procured clients in the nearby vicinities of casinos, asking if they needed loans and, if the loans went through, were offered 10 per cent of the loan value as payment, according to PJ spokesperson Tam Weng Keong.
