Macau (MNA) – The Health Bureau (SS) said this Friday it registered the second case of Dengue fever in Macau in 2018.
According to the department, a non-resident 38-year Malaysian national living at Rua Central da Areia Preta seek treatment at a private health clinic on March 2 showed symptoms of Dengue fever, after traveling to Malaysia on February.
On March 8, SS tests confirmed the patient had contracted Type I Dengue Fever and is currently receiving treatment at Kiang Wu Hospital.
Dengue symptoms can include high fever, severe headaches, pain behind the eyes, severe joint and muscle pain, fatigue, nausea or vomiting.
The SS informed it will carry out the elimination of mosquitoes in the area of residence of the patient, calling for the collaboration of residents of that area to also take preventive measures against mosquitoes.
