A Twelve-Year Odyssey

Since its official launch at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre in 2007, where it hosted 79 exhibitors and welcomed a total of 2,982 attendees, G2E Asia has more than tripled in size and transformed into an internationally-renowned one-stop sourcing platform for forward-thinking gaming and entertainment decision makers, operators and suppliers. 

This year’s 12th edition has a 37,000 square meter interactive show floor and will host more than 220 exhibitors – including 35 percent as first-timers, representing more than 80 countries and regions. Additionally, it will open its doors to around 15,000 local and international trade visitors.  

Presented by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and organized by Reed Exhibitions, the three-day exhibition ensures attendees discover the most current and comprehensive range of products, services and technologies while networking with industry-leading manufacturers, making new connections and learning about upcoming industry trends. 

The G2E Asia Mobile App, launched in 2015 and featured as My G2E Asia Network, provides participants a unique event leverage with “fingertip access” to event-wide information, including exhibitor profiles, conference program, speaker details, new product previews, special event updates and interactive 3D floor plan. Additional capabilities of personalized company and product profiles, internal messaging, personal itinerary and meeting requests further enhance users’ digital experience with time-saving access to the information they need to smoothly navigate the event.  

Returning after a wildly popular debut, New Product Hot Hits further encourages interaction and meetings onsite by presenting a public real-time ranking of the most popular products and services showcased by G2E Asia exhibitors. Visitors can scan the QR code of exhibitors or new products of interest, with an added option to place their “Like” or “Favorite” votes.  

It provides exposure and promotional opportunities for small or medium-sized company products, regardless of the size of their exhibit. Last year, New Product Hot Hits boasted 7,486 views and 1,092 exhibitor profile and product scans, together with 999 product bookmarks. 

Networking OnSite 

G2E Asia Privileges Program. This invitation-only, value-added service was uniquely created to engage senior executives and decision makers in attending the show. It provides key buyers and senior-level decision makers from the gaming and entertainment industry with exclusive privileges and amenities to maximize their event experience, while facilitating high-end commercial opportunities onsite.  

The program’s 2015 debut successfully invited 679 members and 59 onsite matching sessions, generating over US$30 million in business. By 2017, membership figures increased 66 percent to 1,573, with an 86 percent increase in onsite matchmaking activity, resulting in a total business volume of over US$77 million.  

Online Business Matchmaking, also launched in 2015, is a versatile networking tool dedicated to further exploring business opportunities. It facilitates communication and business meetings between exhibitors and visitors up to three months prior to the event.  

This service features private and pre-show networking opportunities for building contacts, inviting, and connecting with customers and buyers. The online matchmaking tool has grown steadily in popularity with 99 arranged meetings in its debut year, followed by a 118 percent increase in 2016, and a 168 percent increase, or 579 arranged meetings last year. Meeting numbers are expected to exceed 600 this year.  

Networking beyond the show floor 

Gaming Regulator Networking Luncheon provides regulators the opportunity to exchange views, share updates and explore cooperation prospects that facilitate the future development of Asia’s rapidly growing and changing gaming industry. The Presidents’ Reception, an exclusive, invitation-only cocktail, targets the industry’s most prominent participants, offering senior-executive networking opportunities and brand exposure. 

Attendees of all interests, levels and backgrounds can take part in Segmented Industry Networking Events, a series of small interactive activities spanning all corners of the field in a casual setting. Each day, networkers have exclusive access to the Table Games Networking Cocktail, Slots Networking Cocktail, Digital Content & Technology Networking Cocktail and Lottery Networking Cocktail.

Held concurrently with the exhibition, the three-day G2E Asia Conference Program – a dynamic duo of business and education, is a series of conferences and forums that keep the gaming and entertainment community up-to-date with new market developments. G2E Asia will be presenting and expanding on themes covering the Futures of Gaming, Integrated Resorts and Digital Content & Technology, with Lawrence Ho, chairman and chief executive officer of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, delivering the Opening Day Keynote Address on May 15.
