at the Bellini – the joy of jazz

At the invitation of the Alliance française de Macao, the Jazz Trio Mario Canonge will be performing at the Bellini Lounge (Venetian Macao Resort-Hotel) on Thursday 8th September, 10:30 pm, for a unique concert!

Mario Canonge is exploring the richness of his native Caribbean culture, mixing music and songs. Behind the basic “square” form of the “beguine” or the “salsa” usually played for dancers, Mario Canonge is creating a brilliant spicy and joyful jazz. He is musically polyglot, flying lightly from “cha cha” to evangelic lyrics, from the tasty “bolero” to the strong and energetic spirit of “mazurka”. His refusal of norms and horizontal routines, the love of multiplicity and rebounds, his instinct and “Creole” intelligence create a delicious vibrationthat soon becomes a “metis” dream.
Mario Canonge has performed on all major national and international scenes and Festivals. Now in Macao, his entry point for his China tour, Mario Canonge will be performing with Lukmil Perez Herrera (Drums) and Felipe Cabrera (Double bass) many pieces from his latest album, Mitan, just released in June 2011!

百利酒廊 – 爵士之悅

應澳門法國文化協會邀請, Mario Canonge爵士三重奏組合將於9月8日晚10:30在百利酒 (威尼斯人酒店) 廊為大家獻上一場獨一無二的爵士音樂夜.

Mario Canonge將自己對加勒比海原創音樂以及對其文化的熱愛, 一一融入他的音樂風格中. 除了運用舞蹈者最擅長的 “Beguine(貝津)” 和 “ Salsa(莎莎)” 曲風為靈感, 他更創造出火辣辣的快樂爵士樂.  他的音樂是多元化的, 他輕易地把福音歌詞融合到 “Cha-Cha(恰恰)” 曲風當中 ; 亦可巧妙地將風趣的 “Bolero (波蕾若)”舞曲和充滿激情與活力的 “Mazurka (馬祖卡)” 舞曲組合起來 . 他拒絕平凡和常規的表現形式, 熱衷於多重和反覆的音樂樣式. 他的音賦直覺加上 “ 克里奧爾人” 的智慧從而顯現出其“曲風混血”的精粹.

Mario Canonge曾在眾多國內和國際音樂節上表演. 本次澳門作為中國巡演的首站, 他將與鼓手Lukmil Perez Herrera, 低音提琴演奏家Felipe Cabrera為本地觀眾演奏其2011年6月新專輯—Mitan的眾多曲目 !
