Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) representative, Ines Chan, said today seven hotels over 3-stars that had previously requested a temporary suspension have now re-opened, with 2,073 rooms now again available in the market.
Some nine low-cost hotels also resumed operations, representing 284 rooms, it was indicated in the daily press conference by health authorities on the Covid-19 crisis.
Previously 26 hotels requested to be temporarily closed, with some of the properties that have now re-opened including Four Seasons, Sofitel Ponte 16, Altira and Legend Palace.
According to the MGTO website, of the hotels over 3-stars that were previously shuttered, The 13, Conrad Hotel, St. Regis Macao and Rocks Hotel remain temporarily closed.
Some 29 casinos resumed operations today after a 15-day suspension enforced by local authorities as a way to contain the spread of the new virus, with 12 properties remaining closed.
