The Zhuhai-Macau joint prevention and control mechanism task force announced that starting from 6 am on Sunday (January 16), people entering Macau coming from Zhuhai will need to present a negative COVID-19 test certificate with a 24-hour validity. Authorities on Thursday had imposed a 48-hour validity nucleic acid test requirement.
The move announced on Saturday evening comes as Zhuhai health authorities reported a newlocally transmitted COVID-19 case, a close contact of one Omicron variant case reported on Friday.
\Over the past two days, Zhuhai registered two new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and six asymptomatic carriers.
