Afghan security personnel arrest 6 criminals in northern Samangan province

Personnel of law enforcement agencies have arrested six people on the charge of involvement in criminal activities in the northern Samangan province, said a statement of the police department Tuesday.

“Mujahideen (holy warriors) of the Islamic Emirate have captured six criminals who were involved in theft, stealing cattle and robbery from parts of provincial capital Aybak city,” the statement asserted.

The security personnel, according to the statement have arrested more than 30 people on the charge of involvement in criminal activities including murder, theft and robbery from parts of Samangan province over the past month.

Security authorities have also captured dozens of people on the charge of involvement in criminal activities from Kabul, Herat, Jawzjan and other parts of Afghanistan over the past couple of weeks.

The Taliban, which took over Afghanistan in mid-August and established the caretaker administration — the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on Sept. 7, has vowed to stabilize security and ensure law and order across the war-torn country.
