Alibaba Cloud helps launch app aimed at helping Macau residents working in Hengqin

Alibaba Cloud and Zhuhai Da Heng Qin Technology Development have launched a cross-border service App aimed at helping Macau residents working in Hengqin, Zhuhai Daily reported.

According to the report, the app – named Qin Ao Tong (琴澳通) – was launched on December 3 and provides one-stop services for Macao enterprises and individuals in Hengqin New Area.

The service helps Macau residents to handle exit-entry, living, and travel affairs and also assists companies in currency settlement, operations, investment, and financing, with all procedures of plaque hanging approval, settlement registration, and subsidy application and renewal can be processed online.

Before, it is said that information on transport, medical treatment and rentals had to be searched in five different websites and apps.

The report also indicates that 70 per cent of all young Macau entrepreneurs operating businesses in the Greater Bay Area, are doing so in the Hengqin New Area.

The app is available for Apple and Android operating systems, but only in Mandarin.

Alibaba Cloud signed this co-operation agreement with the Macau SAR government in 2017 to develop the SAR into a ‘Smart City’, with the first stage of works carried out between 2017 and 2019, and the second stage to be held between 2019 and 2021.
