Maria do Rosário Sambo, speaking in Luanda at the ceremony to sign the memorandum of understanding with the Chinese telecomms multinational, classified the moment as of great importance for the ministery.
The main objective of the memorandum with Huawei is to ultimately enable the improvement of human and infrastructural capacity building in the higher education subsystem, she said.
The agreement signed today focuses mainly on the training of teachers and staff of the ministry of higher education(MESCTI) in the field of telecommunications and information technologies.
It focuses on improving the teaching and learning process, not only of teachers, but also equipping information and communication technologies training institutions, said the minister.
The agreement also provides for Huawei to support the sector with equipment and the consequent installation, in addition to repairing existing ones, so that courses in the areas of technology can have full accreditation.
“It is also foreseen, in this same perspective of improvement of teaching and learning, to create mechanisms with Huawei for the evaluation of courses in the area of information and communication technologies in the country,” she said.
The memorandum was signed by MESCTI, the minister of the sector, and by Huawei Technologies rotating president, Eric Xu.
Maria do Rosário Sambo recalled, in her speech, that the signing of the memorandum occurs in a period in which the world faces the crisis originated by Covid-19 and its brutal impact on the lives of people and Education.
The success of the use of technological resources in higher education institutions, now indispensable in times of the pandemic, will be linked to the training of teachers and infrastructure.
