Cabo Verde: First case of Covid-19 confirmed, Boavista Island quarantined

Cabo Verde’s Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva on Friday said that Boavista island is to be quarantined until 4 April, after the first case of coronavirus was detected in a citizen of English nationality.

The head of the Cape Verdean government announced that the measures will be further strengthened and that there will be no embarkation or disembarkation of passengers on the island.

The first case of coronavirus confirmed in Cabo Verde on Thursday night is a 62 year-old English citizen, who is hospitalised at the Boavista Health Centre and is in a stable condition.
