Century Entertainment terminates licensing agreement for Cambodia VIP room

Gaming company Century Entertainment International Holdings Limited announced that it has terminated its licensing agreement with Crown Resorts Co., Ltd. for the operating rights of a VIP room in the Genting Crown Casino casino in Poipet, Cambodia.

The company headed by Ng Man Sun has signed a three-year agreement for the operating rights in 2017 through its subsidiary Victor Mind Global Limited (VMG).

According to the company, the decision was prompted by a Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen order that all casinos must temporarily stop their business activities until further notice in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, an order that as lasted since April 1 until now.

The license agreement was to expire on November 30, but Century – formerly known as Amax decided that terminating the license agreement earlier without compensation was a favourable opportunity for the company to minimize its cash outlay during the pandemic period.
