Century Entertainment to relocate casino operations in Sihanoukville

Gaming company Century Entertainment International has announced that it is planning to relocate its casino operations in Cambodia from its existing location at Sunshine Bay Hotel in Sihanoukville to the Ming Guan Hotel in the same city.

According to the company, Lion King, the holder of the gaming table business rights, has indicated that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the temporary closure of all casinos in Cambodia since April 1, it has been unsuccessful in negotiating with the landlord for any possibility to reduce the lease payment of the casino.

The company has then been offered by a company named Han Guan Co., Ltd comparatively more attractive terms for lease at a new location, the Ming Guan Hotel situated at Street 115, Preah Sihanouk, Sihanoukville Municipal, where casino operations will be maintained at a lower lease rate.

The lease would be valid until October 1 of this year, with the hotel having a gross floor area of 17,000 square meters including a casino with 50 slot machines, 40 mass-market tables and 40 VIP gaming tables and 176 hotel rooms, plus two restaurants, swimming pool, spa and night club.

Lion King is still currently negotiating the final terms and plans for the installation of necessary equipment, with the previous operations already closed for disassembly.
