A landmark agreement between China and the European Union (EU) to protect 200 geographical brands of agri-food came into force on January 1. According to the China-EU Geographical Indications Agreement, 100 EU and 100 Chinese agri-foods are protected in both markets. Thanks to the agreement, consumers are expected to discover genuine Chinese and EU specialties, most of which are wines, spirits and food products.
