China’s professional cloud services market sees modest growth in H1: report

China’s professional cloud services market size expanded moderately in the first half of the year considering the impact of COVID-19, according to an industrial report. The overall professional cloud services market scale hit 7.19 billion yuan (about US$1.09 billion) in the first half, up 12.3 percent year on year, data from global market intelligence firm International Data Corporation (IDC) showed.

The need to move offline business online has prompted enterprises to seek professional cloud services, and has led more enterprises to develop online business based on cloud computing, big data and technologies such as artificial intelligence, read the report.

China’s professional cloud services sector has a fragmented market in which the top five service providers — Huawei, IBM, Accenture, China Telecom and Inspur — account for less than 20 percent of the total market share, the IDC report showed.
