Health authorities have placed an individual in Macau who had secondary contact with an Hangzhou confirmed Covid-19 case under medical observation.
On December 1 the Health Commission of the Province of Guangdong notified the Health Bureau that an individual that had contact in Shenzhen with a confirmed case of COVID-19 detected in Hangzhou.
The man – a mainland resident – then travelled to Macau on December 1 and stayed at a Cotai hotel
After being notified, local health authorities contacted and transported the person to the Conde Sao Januario Hospital Special Emergency Service for testing.
The man tested negative and is currently under medical observation at the Public Health Clinical Center in Alto de Coloane.
In accordance with national guidelines for the prevention and control of the epidemic, if the results of the nucleic acid tests of the respective person in close contact are negative for seven days from November 29, the medical observation of the individual in question can be completed on December 6.
‘On the other hand, all the people who have been in contact with this individual and all the places where this individual has stayed, at the moment, do not need special assistance,’ the health bureau added.
