Macau is organizing an innovation competition for Portuguese and Brazilian companies on Thursday, with the winners being able to develop projects in the Greater Bay Area, including Hong Kong and nine Chinese cities.
In the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Macau) for Technology Companies from Brazil and Portugal 2022”, 14 projects from the two Portuguese-speaking countries will be selected.
The competition is organized by the Macau Government’s Economic and Technological Development Office and carried out by Parafuturo Macau and the Macau Young Entrepreneurs Incubation Center, with the competing projects being analyzed by a panel of investors, university professors, representatives of financial institutions and business incubators.
The organizers stress that “the winners will be qualified to implement their projects in the Greater Bay Area”, Beijing’s project to create a world metropolis that brings together Macau, Hong Kong and nine cities in the Chinese province of Guangdong, with around 80 million of inhabitants.
With this year’s edition, the aim is to “discover more outstanding projects from Portuguese-speaking countries, and promote interaction between China and Portuguese-speaking countries in innovation, entrepreneurship and technological exchange”, the statement said.
