The 1,572-meter-long Shiguishan Bridge in central China’s Hunan is demolished in a controlled explosion.The bridge was put into use in 1998 to meet the urgent need of fighting floods.It was deemed unsafe in 2010 and couldn’t meet the demand of the growing inland water transport.A new bridge built nearby with a length of 2,022 meters was put into use in October 2017.
