CTM results go up

In the first half of 2010, CTM’s revenues and EBITDA increased by 12.4 percent year-on-year and by 5.4 percent year-on-year to MOP 1.3 billion and MOP 586 million, respectively. The company’s EBITDA margin stood at 44.2 percent, according to Portugal Telecom’s (PT) First Half 2010 Earning Records, which has a 28 percent stake in CTM. CTM’s “revenue growth was achieved against a backdrop of a positive evolution of the economy of Macau, which led to an increase in the number of visitors in the semester”, PT said. Data revenues represented 13.2 percent of mobile service revenues for CTM in the first six months of 2010. In the mobile division, customers increased by 3.6 percent year on year, reaching 521,000 as at 30 June 2010. In the first half of 2010, CTM’s mobile average revenue per user increased by 5.5 percent to MOP 112, as a result of growth of data and roaming revenues in the period.
