Fewer licensed manufacturers and suppliers of gaming machines

The number of manufacturers and suppliers of gaming machines licensed by the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ) has fallen to 28 licensed companies in 2016 from a total of 33 in 2015. This represents a decrease of 15.2 per cent year-on-year.
In terms of the number of manufacturers, the current number stands at 26 registered at the beginning of the year, compared to 28 in 2015, according to data published yesterday in Macau’s Official Gazette.
Comparing the lists for 2015 and 2016, Bally Macau Limited and WMS International (Macau) Limited, both controlled by Nevada-based group Scientific Games Corporation, were excluded. The other companies left out of the authorized manufacturer pool were Alternative Gaming Solutions and AutoGaming Macau.
Conversely, two manufacturers were added; namely, Icon Gaming Technology and Prosperous (International) Entertainment Technology. Both companies are based in Macau, according to the information provided by DICJ.
Regarding the number of suppliers, the decline year-on-year was more significant, as the number dropped to two this year, while in the previous year it stood at five suppliers of gaming machines.
IPG International, Jade Technology and Laxino Technology were excluded from the lists, with no entrants at all.
