FMCC, USJ team up to develop GBA business network

The France Macau Chamber of Commerce (FMCC) and the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of developing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Network.

The agreement follows a visit by a joint delegation of FMCC and USJ to the Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin on April 22.

FMCC Chairman Rutger Verschuren stated that this MoU demonstrates the chamber’s commitment to deepening its involvement in the GBA. “With the extensive research-driven insights of USJ, we will be able to further develop a meaningful platform for industries, commerce, and students to network, arrange visits, and collaborate on incubation and other business platforms,” Mr Verschuren said, as quoted in a press release.

The dean of the USJ Faculty of Business and Law, Jenny Phillips, also emphasised that this move strengthens the two institutions’ “joint commitment to fostering a stronger relationship and facilitating the integration between Macau and the Greater Bay Area,” adding that the goal is to not only stimulate the development of a more diverse economy in Macau but also enhance the global business ecosystem.
