French international Belleau in summer move to Clermont

Toulon’s French international fly-half Anthony Belleau has signed for Clermont from next summer “for the next three seasons”, the Top 14 club announced on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old, who won the last of his 12 France caps as a replacement against Ireland in the 2019 Six Nations, “has decided to give a new direction to his career by committing until June 2025,” said Clermont.

Belleau, who has featured in 11 of Toulon’s 12 matches this season, seven as a starter, is set to replace another France fly-half the veteran Camille Lopez who is to depart for Bayonne.

Clermont are currently seventh in the Top 14 and face Ulster on Saturday in the opening round of the European Champions Cup.
