Gaming revenue up 70 percent

Macau’s casino gross gaming revenue reached MOP16.3 billion (US$2 billion) last month, the second highest value ever. It represents a yearly increase of 70.4 percent, according to data released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ). The total casino gross gaming revenue for the seven months through to July rose 67.5 percent year-on-year to MOP102.2 billion. That is almost as much as the local casinos ranked in on the overall 2008 (MOP108.8 billion).
