Gov’t prohibits the import of paper and cardboard for recycling

The Chief Executive has published an executive order to prohibit the import of used paper for recycling as a way to improve the local environment and the efficient functioning of treatment and recycling facilities, the Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) indicated today.

Accoridng to an Official Gazette dispatch published today, the import of four types of used paper for recycling is prohibited since August 11, namely, raw kraft paper or paperboard; paper or paperboard obtained mainly from bleached chemical pulp; paper or cards, obtained mainly from mechanical pulp, such as newspapers; and unselected waste and scrap papers.
