Gov’t public services to remain suspended until June 24, school classes also remain suspended

Macau SAR public services and government departments will remain closed, aside from emergency services until June 24.

After the most recent community outbreak, government department services to the public had been suspended from June 20 to June 21, with local authorities now extending the suspension to the end of the week.

The Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) also indicated today that the suspension of all educational activities of tertiary education institutions and non-tertiary education schools will remain in effect, with plans already discussed with schools to assure students can carry out their final examinations and receive their grades.

“We can’t say exactly until when classes will remain suspended, we need to continue monitoring the situation and assure the safety of the students. If there is no time in this school year remaining students could receive their grades via a continuous education method,” Luís Gomes, acting chief of the DSEDJ Non-Tertiary Education said today.
