Portugal: Haitong Bank shareholder increased capital by 2.4 billion euros

The shareholder of Haitong Bank increased its capital by 2.4 billion euros, through the private placement of shares, the bank said in a statement.

The shares issued by Haitong Securities, the main shareholder of Haitong Bank (formerly BES Investimento), will be admitted to trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The statement also indicates that the capital increase “will allow Haitong Securities to continue to grow as one of the leading investment banks and securities intermediation companies in China, a pioneer in providing various financial services in international markets”.

Haitong Securities is listed on the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges, with a total market capitalization of 162.4 billion renminbi, equivalent to 19.7 billion euros.
