Health Bureau hit by cyber attack

The computer system of Macau’s Health Bureau came under a cyber attack on Friday and Saturday, according to a press release issued by the SAR’s health authorities.

The cyber attack “affected the normal functioning” of the health code system, the vaccination booking system against Covid-19 and the nucleic acid test.

After the “urgent repair” made by the Health Bureau and CTM, “the computer systems are back to normal operation”.

The Health Services referred the case to the Judiciary Police and notified the Cybersecurity Incident Alert and Response Centre, so that “there is a joint response”.

Authorities believe that the actions are aimed at “affecting the fight against the epidemic and public services”.
