Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng has pledged support for the independence of the Judiciary in his speech at the opening ceremony of the SAR’s 2020/21 Judicial Year, while focusing on the need to optimize the training of legal professionals.
Ho Iat Seng said authorities will continue to stand for the impartiality and independence of the courts and legal system. “The SAR Government will continue, as usual, to firmly persist in defending the impartiality of the Judiciary”, Me Ho stated after underscoring that rule of law is a cornerstone of the Macau Special Administrative Region.
The Chief Executive has also said the Government is committed to moving on with the construction plans for the new facilities which will house the Court of First Instance, Court of Second Appeal and Court of Final Appeal.
