Hong Kong reports 3 new COVID-19 cases

Hong Kong’s Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported three new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, all of which were local, taking the total tally to 11,730.

Among the newly reported cases, one had unknown infection sources, involving a 38-year-old female foreign domestic helper infected with the N501Y mutant strain, according to the CHP.

To stop the potential risk of spread of N501Y mutant strain, the CHP on Friday night arranged compulsory quarantine for asymptomatic residents of the building where the above case resided.

Hong Kong launched a COVID-19 vaccination drive on Feb. 26. About 806,600 people have received the first dose of vaccine, and about 416,200 have received the second so far.
