Hong Kong’s Emperor UA Cinema opens in Zhuhai

The second Emperor UA Cinema in Mainland China opened in shopping and entertainment complex Midtown in Zhuhai over the weekend, following which more Emperor UA Cinemas will be stationed in the first-tier cities of the Mainland, Chinese-language newspaper Macao Daily News reported quoting Emperor Motion Pictures’ chief executive officer Albert Lee. The Hong Kong film company Emperor Motion Pictures and movie theatre chain UA Cinema saw its first Emperor UA Cinema operating in Foshan City in Guangdong last year. The site is a 12-screen venue with seats for 1,500 viewers. The newly opened Emperor UA Cinema in Zhuhai occupies an area of 2,400 square metres, with 758 seats. The partnership between Emperor Motion Pictures and UA Cinema will bring more high quality theatre experiences to Chinese audiences with an ongoing expansion of cinemas in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, Mr. Lee was quoted by the newspaper as saying. The UA Cinema movie theatre chain, founded in 1985, also runs a cinema here in the casino-resort complex Galaxy Macau Phase 1. The chain has been operating cinemas under its own brand in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing and Chengdu.
