India’s exports grow by 25 pct in December 2021

India’s overall exports in December 2021 stood at 57.87 billion U.S. dollars, up by 25.05 percent year on year, data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Friday showed.

Overall imports in December 2021 stood at 72.35 billion dollars, compared to 54.05 billion dollars in December 2020, according to a statement issued by the ministry.

The ministry said India’s overall exports from April to December 2021 are estimated to be 479.07 billion dollars, exhibiting a positive growth of 36.31 percent over the same period last year and a positive growth of 20.25 percent over April-December 2019.

Likewise, the ministry said overall imports in April-December 2021 are estimated to be 547.12 billion dollars, exhibiting a positive growth of 57.33 percent over the same period last year and a positive growth of 18.57 percent over April-December 2019.

Taking merchandise and services together, the overall trade deficit reached 14.48 billion dollars for December 2021, as compared to 7.77 billion dollars in December 2020, the ministry said.
