Intellectual disability debated at week conference and sports event

Macau (MNA) – The fourth edition of the Inclusive Conference Macau for people with Intellectual Disabilities opened on Monday morning.

The event organised by the Charity Association of Macau Business Readers, taking place from April 22 to April 29, combines golf activities (the eighth edition of Macau Golf Masters), international guest speakers, workshops, and entertainment.

Guests speaking at the conference themed ‘Parenting and Education’ taking place today at MGM Cotai and tomorrow at the Macau Anglican College include sports, medical, and education professionals coming from Singapore, South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, to name a few.

‘The conference target and subject is to enable children and adults with an intellectual disability to develop their innate skills and self-esteem in an environment which is inclusive and supportive,’ the organisers wrote in their Facebook platform, which is broadcasting talks live.

The Conference is followed by the Macau Golf Masters 2019, which the organisers labeled the ‘world’s biggest Golf Tournament for People with Intellectual Disabilities.’ Other sport events, like soccer, table tennis and basketball will also be part of the athletes week.

The event is gathering teams from 17 countries who came to Macau in 28 delegations.

Partners of the event include MGM Macau, Macau Anglican College, the Caesars Golf Macau, Meg Star Group, and Melco Resorts & Entertainment.
