The value of goods exports reached MOP745 million (US$93.28 million) in July, 16 percent more than a year earlier, official data show. Growth was driven by an increase of 33 percent in re-exports to MOP563 million. Domestic exports that are “made in Macau” decreased by 16 percent to MOP181 million. Imports of goods grew to MOP7.12 billion, 24 percent more than a year earlier. The recent trend in trade as been for Macau to import luxuries, tobacco and jewellery from the mainland and the European Union, and export jewellery, diamonds and electronics to Hong Kong.
