The number of commercial arrival and departures at the Macau International Airport in June dropped by 94.2 per cent year-on-year to 350 trips, data published today by the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) reveal.
In the same month, the amount in air cargo transported decreased by 11.5 per cent to some 2,774 tonnes, with gross weight of the inward cargo (305 tonnes) and transit cargo (29 tonnes) decreasing by 43.7 per cent and 92.4 per cent, respectively.
Overall, in the first half-year, arriving and departing commercial flights fell by 74.3 per cent year-on-year to 9,161 trips, with air cargo volume reduced by 28.1 per cent to 13,215 tonnes.
In that period cross-border vehicular traffic also dropped by 65.1 per cent year-on-year to 908,688 trips, however gross weight of containerized cargo increased by 36.2 per cent year-on-year to 11,577 tonnes.
Gross weight of cargo handled at the Ká-Hó Harbour and the Inner Harbour meanwhile dropped by 29.4 per cent to 51,334 tonnes in the first six months of this year
