Macau police arrests suspect for alleged cross-border gambling crimes

Police of China’s Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Saturday arrested suspect Chau Cheok Wa and others for investigation.

Chau was earlier accused by mainland authorities of running cross-border gambling activities that severely endangered national social order. Procurators in Wenzhou city of east China’s Zhejiang Province issued an arrest warrant on Chau.

The Macau SAR government has reiterated that all those engaged in the gaming industry in Macau must strictly abide by laws and regulations of the country and the SAR, noting that anyone who violates Macau’s laws and regulations must be held accountable.
