Macau | Some 80 extra charter flights approved for Chinese New Year

Macau (MNA) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Macau SAR (AACM) has approved 80 extra charter flights in order to cope with expected demand for Chinese New Year celebrations, the department said on Monday in a press release.

The approved routes include 51 flights from Mainland China; namely, from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Changzhou, Chengdu and Qingdao. From Taiwan there will be 24 flights from Taipei and Kaohsiung plus two flights from Vietnam (Danang), two from Japan (Osaka and Kokura) and one from Thailand (Bangkok.)

The companies with approved flights are Air Macau, Juneyao Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Sky Flyer Inc.

The extra charter flights will operate from February 4 to February 26, with the number of extra flights being double that of last year.

Macau International Airport Company Limited announced last Wednesday that it expects the local airport to receive some 7.38 million people in 2018, as reported by MNA.
