Macau (MNA) – Air Macau will resume flights between Macau and Osaka on September 28 due to the partial re-opening of Kansai International Airport (KIX), according to a release from the airline.
Previously, the airline had announced that flights would resume on September 13.
Typhoon Jebi, which was the strongest typhoon to strike Japan since 1993, hit the Kansai region on September 4, causing storm surges that flooded the airport and the No. 1 Terminal Building, according to Japanese news agency Kyodo.
Airport runways were re-opened ten days after the typhoon.
Kansai Airport aims to restore all passenger flights by September 21, according to The Japan Times, with around 30 per cent of pre-typhoon flights operational as of September 15.
