Macau | Asbestos site in Taipa pollution free

Macau (MNA) – The Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) announced on Monday that the cleaning works of a site located in Taipa which has previously caused some public concern due to asbestos removal activity were completed in mid-May.

The developer was working on the removal of asbestos roof sheeting material at the construction storage site when a neighbouring school, the Macau Anglican College, summoned the authorities in late January 2018.

After the necessary measures were taken to reduce the pollution from asbestos generated at the site, the DSPA confirmed that until compliance with the international criteria and safety provisions on the site in question is assured, the developer will proceed with the removal of scaffolding and canvas covering the site under the supervision of a professional consultancy entity.
